The lecture should have been presented in Oxford, at an Interdisciplinary Conference of the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics and Public Life on Ageing & Despair. Towards Patience and Hope for Health and Care, 27 – 29 May 2020. The event was cancelled but has been miraculously transformed by the organizers into a A Virtual Interdisciplinary Conference. All speakers (among whom also my Dutch colleague Els van Wijngaarden) presented their contributions in video presentations online.
